DESCRIPTION:All area child care providers are welcome to attend the FREE Ch
 ild Care Provider Quarterly Professional Development Series. Attendees wil
 l receive credit towards annual recertification requirements. Speaker: Mon
 ique Koerner\, Family and Community Wellness Agent with K-State Extension\
 , Cottonwood District Topic: Better Brains for Babies is a research-based 
 educational program from the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension t
 hat K-State Extension has partnered with to bring to Kansas. The program i
 s an awareness and education initiative aimed at parents\, caregivers\, an
 d early-childhood professionals that highlights how early brain developmen
 t occurs and what supports it. We will explore how neuroscience and early 
 childhood development intersect to guide best practices and environments t
 hat promote healthy brain wiring in infants and young children. There will
  also be a prize drawing for attendees that evening. This is a wonderful o
 pportunity for child care providers to connect with fellow professionals a
 nd build strong networks. A special thank you to the Robert E. & Patricia 
 A. Schmidt Foundation for their sponsorship of this series! Date & time de
 tails Child care providers will be treated to a delicious meal from 6 p.m.
  to 6:30 p.m.\, with the formal workshop beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fees & reg
