DESCRIPTION:The Chamber in Hays\, Kansas\, in partnership with Fort Hays St
 ate University\, is pleased to host the 2026 Kansas House Districts 110 an
 d 111 Election Forums for voters throughout Ellis County and the surroundi
 ng area. The forum will feature the three candidates participating in the 
 2026 general election for the Kansas House of Representatives: 110th Distr
 ictCody Ward (Republican) Mark Schaukowitch (Democrat) 111th DistrictRepre
 sentative Barb Wasinger (Republican)\, incumbent Melanie McMillan (Democra
 t) The two forums will be held back-to-back to provide an opportunity for 
 voters to hear directly from the candidates about issues important to resi
 dents. The event will be moderated by a faculty member and a student repre
 sentative from Fort Hays State University and will focus on providing a st
 ructured\, nonpartisan setting for candidates to respond to questions from
  the community relevant to their respective districts and the state of Kan
 sas. Forum Format Each district will have its own forum. The 110th Distric
 t forum will be held first\, followed immediately by the 111th District fo
 rum. The format for each forum will be: Each candidate will have two minut
 es for opening remarks. Candidates will have 90 seconds to respond to each
  question. A candidate who is directly called out by another candidate may
  receive 45 seconds for a rebuttal. Each candidate will have two minutes f
 or closing remarks. An official timekeeper will help enforce response time
 s so the forum can cover as many topics as possible during the 60-minute p
 rogram. Questions & Moderation Members of the public are invited to submit
  questions for consideration by Thursday\, October 8 to sarah@hayschamber.
 com. Questions will not be provided to candidates in advance. The moderato
 rs will endeavor to cover a broad range of topics relevant to voters withi
 n the 1st Congressional District during the 60-minute forum. Moderators wi
 ll establish and maintain appropriate decorum throughout the event. Media 
 & Recording Invitations will be extended to local media outlets to attend
