The Hays Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony during a news conference on Aug. 25 to commemorate yet another partnership between Fort Hays State University and the local business community.
Representatives from FHSU, Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless will conduct a joint news conference at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 25 in the Stouffer Lounge in the FHSU Memorial Union. The news conference will mark the official launch of Blackboard Central, a service that allows access to several locally created apps specific to FHSU, Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless. Anyone with access to cellular, Wi-Fi or Internet service will be able to download free smartphone applications -- called "apps" -- that will allow them to engage with FHSU, Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless from anywhere in the world.
Additional local apps will be available from Blackboard Central in the near future. Blackboard Inc. is an education vendor that FHSU uses to provide a system for online course management.
