Townhall Discussion Lunch

Jul 12, 2018 12:00 PM | Ends Jul 12, 2018 1:30 PM
About this event
The Hays Area Chamber of Commerce and Grow Hays (formerly Ellis County Coalition for Economic Development) were contacted about a unique project in bringing people together to discuss the workforce needs in our community.
Attached you will find a postcard identifying what is called the Kansas Skill Gap Survey Project along with the organizers who share the purpose in gathering input from communities across Kansas.
This project links business and education together. In addition, this effort will lay the foundation to develop a comprehensive plan that will assist the success of our businesses, the success of our students and grow our community and the Kansas economy.
We invite you to participate in one or more of these ways:
  • Attend a “Town Hall Discussion” Lunch from Noon – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 at Stouffer Lounge, Memorial Union, FHSU Campus. Please RSVP to hayscc@discoverhays.com for this free lunch option.
    • Conversation will be led by the Governor’s Education Council, the Kansas Chamber, and the Brandmeyer Center for Applied Economics at the KU School of Business.
And/OR
  • Complete the survey that is located at KansasSkillsGap.org
  • Forward this email to invite others within your organization and industry to complete this survey.
We hope you can join us for this important discussion! Seating for the lunch is limited so be sure to reserve your seat soon – the deadline for reservations is 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. See you soon
