Join The Chamber in Hays, Kansas and share your organization’s career opportunities with approximately 600 Ellis County high school juniors and seniors! This interactive career experience connects students with area employers and helps them explore meaningful career opportunities right here in our community. Thank you to our Title Sponsor, Hess Services Inc.

What to expect:
  • Approximately 600 juniors and seniors from Hays High School, TMP-Marian, and Victoria High School
  • The Chamber will provide an in-person "how to table an event" training session on November 12 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at the Welcome Center, 2700 Vine St. This free class will provide tips and tricks for successful interactions with potential job seekers and prospective clients at job fairs and business expos.
  • Table and chairs provided by Hays High School
  • Share available jobs with students
  • Connect with students, showcase your career opportunities, and help them explore potential career paths in Ellis County
  • Each student will receive a bingo card outlining the businesses participating in the event. Students will be encouraged to visit at least 8–10 businesses during the event, and must ask the business a question in order to get their bingo square marked.
Businesses can set up their 3-4 foot round tables (tables provided by HHS) in the Commons area starting at 7:30 a.m. You must check in with the front office and bring a photo ID. Table time with students will run from 8:00–10:45 a.m. Tear down must be completed by no later than 11:05 a.m. to open up the Commons Area for HHS's lunch period.

What to Bring:
Please bring information about your organization and available career opportunities to share with students. Handouts are recommended to include:
  • What students should know about your company as a prospective employer
  • Exciting career opportunities and a brief description of the work involved
  • Jobs your organization anticipates needing to fill in the next 3–5 years
  • Benefits packages, including the approximate dollar value of benefits offered
  • Pay ranges for available positions (optional, but highly encouraged)
  • Tuition reimbursement and scholarship opportunities
  • Minimum versus preferred credentials for new recruits
