Internal Analyst
BS in Business required, (emphasis in accounting preferred).
Proficient in Excel Spreadsheets. Experience with general ledger accounting & Computers.

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, full-time position at the Hays Administrative Office.

Serve in support to the Director of Administrative Services and the Comptroller at DSNWK. Gather information by reviewing identified workflows, company policies and reports and engaging in peer shadowing as instructed to become familiar with DSNWK's operations processes and requirements. Participate in the preparation of analyses and reports to provide information to management to meet requirements of funding sources.
Essential Functions
Support the overall operations in DSNWK's administrative functions and participate as directed. Through the observation of workflows, reviewing agency policies and reports and peer shadowing, become familiar with DSNWK's internal and external processes and operations and their relevant requirements.
Become familiar with the software programs and their administration in useby Fiscal Services (including Comptroller), Human Resources, Administrative Services, and Major Gifts and Planned Giving.
Provide support to the Human Resource Department in bi-weekly payroll processing by conducting a detailed review of payroll edit, comparing cost centers and hours input back to timesheets prior to final processing of payroll.
Provide support to the Fiscal Services department on related functions with oversight from the Comptroller and/or Fiscal Services Manager. Some focus areas may include preparing reports from the monthly financial statements; performing coding on expenses; assist in preparation of the budget, annual fee schedule, county commission reports, and workpapers for the annual independent audit; assist in management of cash accounts; maintaining adequate internal control system; and compiling vacancy/usage information for billing and funding sources.
Oversee DSNWK's Representative Payee program, including communication with the Social Security Administration (questions, audits, etc.).
Determine eligibility for HUD housing services including obtaining the information needed from prospective tenants and consulting on various HUD related housing issues.
KPERS Eligibility
This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.
Job Specifications
Education - BS in Business with emphasis in accounting preferred.
Experience - General ledger accounting experience preferred and computer background required. Must be proficient in Excel Spreadsheets.
Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.
Other Requirements
Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to quickly learn and understand various software applications and communicate effectively with other staff on the software's use.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license.
