Job Overview
Lifetime Dental Care is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our patient-focused team in Hays, KS. We are looking for a motivated professional who can help create an efficient, organized, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will have prior dental assisting experience, strong clinical knowledge, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Occasional Fridays
  • Expected Hours: 34–40 hours per week

What You’ll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare patients for treatments and procedures, ensuring comfort and a positive experience
  • Assist the dentist and hygienist chairside during general and restorative procedures
  • Select, set up, and organize instruments, materials, and equipment
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments in compliance with infection control standards
  • Take and process dental radiographs (per state guidelines)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Perform regulated non-surgical duties (e.g., coronal polishing, if certified)
  • Support lab tasks as needed (impressions, temporaries, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked operatory
  • Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and OSHA regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Dental Assisting experience preferred (minimum 1 year)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred)
  • Additional certifications (EFDA, coronal polishing, etc.) are a plus
  • Strong computer and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment
