The City of Hays’ Finance Department is accepting applications for an Account Clerk. Duties include providing customer service to utility customers, collecting outstanding bills by reaching out to customers or sending accounts to collections, and posts payments to customer accounts.
Typical work schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. & Friday 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with an alternative work schedule allowed to help achieve a work/life balance.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid Kansas driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED required. College degree is preferred. The ideal candidate would have the ability to solve problems and a thorough knowledge of office procedures. This employee must have strong oral and written communication, public relation, and organizational skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Ability to use a 10 key calculator. Applicant must reside within a 40-minute response time of Hays within 6 months of employment. Job offer is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical.
COMPENSATION
