Position Overview:
Hearing Solutions, LLC is seeking a compassionate, friendly, and detail-oriented person to join our team long term as a Hearing Instrument Specialist/Specialist Trainee. The Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) is responsible for providing quality patient experience from start to finish, as part of a cohesive team, according to the high standards that Hearing Solutions, LLC has established for their practice. This individual will have a state licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist or, in the case of a trainee, will train for and seek state licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist through the Kansas Board of Hearing Aid Examiners’ testing and credentialling process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering hearing test procedures in accordance with the Hearing Solutions, LLC protocol and applicable state and federal laws
- Dispensing and fitting of hearing aid products and accessories according to the Hearing Solutions, LLC protocol and applicable state and federal laws
- Counsel patients on the successful use of hearing instruments and accessories and perform follow-up services
- Maintain a successful and profitable office while making sure that patient experience is the top priority
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- No felony convictions
- Licensed and in good standing as a Hearing Instrument Specialist in Kansas or a reciprocal state OR training and licensing opportunity will be provided through Hearing Solutions, LLC for the right candidate
- Knowledge of software systems including patient management software including NOAH or a willingness to learn and master same
- Experience in a healthcare, customer service or audiology-related field a plus
- Ability to provide patients with technological assistance with hearing aid/phone connectivity covering numerous hearing aid and cellphone manufacturers
- Knowledge of cell phone applications and Bluetooth technology
- Good problem solving, analytical abilities, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with people of all ages
- Must have the ability to multi-task, stay organized and work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced office environment
- Compassionate, patient-focused and detail-oriented
- Ability to serve the public of all ages with compassion, patience and understanding
- Ability to work with an office team to accomplish the goals of the practice as a whole
Customer Service and Outreach:
- Build positive relationships with patients and their families by providing warm and personal service
- Assist in marketing efforts, including community outreach and hearing health awareness events
